Day 4 ~ Practicing for Others
Jul 28, 2026
People from all over Brazil joined the National Brazilian Festival 2025 at the Temple for World Peace, Kadampa Meditation Center Brazil. Practitioners gathered to receive special blessings from Gen-la Jampa, NKT Deputy General Spiritual Director, who traveled to South America to grant the empowerment of Buddha Vajrasattva.
The Festival began with an inspiring introduction by Gen Drime, setting a warm and meaningful foundation for receiving the teachings and blessings to come. Afterwards, Gen Kelsang Loten guided a gentle and uplifting meditation to help everyone prepare their minds to receive the special blessings.
Gen-la Jampa then granted Vajrasattva empowerment and shared precious teachings from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche on faith, karma, and the transformative power of purification practice — reminding us that when we truly understand the law of karma, a strong determination naturally arises to purify our mind for the benefit of all living beings.
This Wednesday, 19 November, hundreds of people from all regions of Brazil arrived at Kadampa Meditation Centre Brazil for the 2025 Brazilian Dharma Festival.
The atmosphere was filled with reunion, joy, and gratitude — our spiritual family coming home again!
It is impossible not to feel moved when seeing so many people gathered with the same deep motivation: to benefit all living beings. In a world so in need of wisdom, compassion, love, and happiness, witnessing this collective movement of transformation is truly powerful — extraordinary, even.
In the introduction, Gen Kelsang Drime, the Resident Teacher of KMC Brazil, guided us to reflect on the meaning of the word “Dharma.”
On the second day, Gen Kelsang Loten helped us prepare our minds to receive the empowerment with a guided meditation.
Gen-la Jampa then granted the blessing empowerment of Vajrasattva and shared precious teachings from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso on faith, karma, and the transformative power of practicing Vajrasattva — inspiring us to purify our minds for the benefit of all beings.
We concluded with Wishfulfilling Jewel prayers and tsog offering, ending the day with smiles, hugs and the joy of recognizing a true refuge. Through this supreme method, we can experience lasting happiness and help others do the same.
On the third day of the Festival, practitioners experienced a true shower of blessings as Gen-la Jampa reminded them of the great kindness of Venerable Geshe-la, who established Dharma centers worldwide, giving everyone the opportunity to access the precious teachings that lead to freedom from suffering and lasting happiness.
Today, Gen-la Jampa taught how to integrate the practice of purification into daily life. He also expressed heartfelt thanks to the volunteers, recognizing their essential role in creating an environment where Venerable Geshe-la’s teachings can benefit countless beings through modern Kadampa Buddhism.
In the afternoon, practitioners joined the Meditation and Recitation of Solitary Vajrasattva retreat, guided by Gen Mudita, the National Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition in Brazil. She encouraged us to deepen our understanding of karma and to remember that Guru Buddha Vajrasattva is always with us.
The fifth and final day of the 2025 Brazilian National Festival was marked by two retreat sessions led by Gen Mudita, the National Spiritual Director, along with a gentle atmosphere of farewell. Practitioners from across Brazil returned home with something uniquely valuable from a Dharma Festival: special instructions from the heart of our Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
The Festival left us with a sense of gratitude and accomplishment, knowing that these teachings help fulfill Venerable Geshe-la’s vision of spreading Kadam Dharma throughout the modern world. Practicing Dharma is the greatest offering to Venerable Geshe-la, and through it, all beings can attain supreme happiness and full enlightenment.
Gen-la Sangden helps us to take to heart Venerable Geshe-la's advice that during this spiritual holiday we should learn how to make ourselves happy and that cherishing others is the method for doing this.
