During the last few weeks, Bodhisattva KBC in Canberra (Australia) and KMC Southampton in the south of England organized prominent events, where people had the opportunity to enjoy a perceptible inner peace.
215 people enjoyed a Public Talk from our National Spiritual Director, Gen Kelsang Rabten at the National Gallery of Australia yesterday. 215 minds became calm during a ten-minute guided meditation - palpable peace. And after an hour and a half with Gen Rabten's insight and warmth, 215 smiling faces as people exited the gallery - into a better world..
So many people have been in touch to let us know how much the talk meant to them:
- Inspirational!
- Today was wonderful! Entertaining and inspiring.
- Gen Rabten very neatly, with great humour, summarised positive ways to deal with anxiety.
- It was such a good vibe to be surrounded by loving Buddhists..
Our heartfelt thanks to Gen Rabten for sharing his wisdom, experience and kindness with us. And a big shout out to all our fabulous volunteers, and to our awesome center managers for creating this wonderful event.
We loved hosting Gen Rabten at Bodhisattva KBC in Canberra for 24 hours, including a powerful Wishfulfilling Jewel with tsog puja, and time for many community members to meet Gen Rabten for the first time. Several Sydneysiders travelled over three hours to be a part of the event, including their Resident Teacher Kelsang Jangsem.
A wonderful weekend for Canberra and beyond. Thank you to everyone involved!
Gen Lekma taught an inspiring and engaging half-day course entitled Letting Go of Negative Emotions at Quay Arts, Newport, Isle of Wight. This is Kadampa Meditation Centre Southampton's second pop-up event organized on the Isle of Wight.
A team of volunteers from KMC Southampton took a 1-hour ferry journey from Southampton docks to the Isle of Wight and teamed up with Sangha members who live on the Isle of Wight to run the event. It was a great success: over 60 people from all over the island attended. In addition to many new people, there was also a crowd of people who were coming back having been to the previous event. The attendees enjoyed hearing about Dharma and were keen to have future events. A big thank you to everyone who showed up and volunteered on the day and to Quay Arts who were very accommodating hosts.
Each attendee was given an information pack and admin director, Gail Mott, let people know how they can further connect to courses at KMC Southampton and future events on the island. So watch this space for more developments on the Isle of Wight!
