Whats Happening at IKRC Grand canyon?

After the completion of the six week Mountain Retreat, the community of IKRC is busy with many different activities to welcome back visitors from the local area to the Temple.

On Saturday, March 2, the IKRC Grand Canyon held an Open House with a FREE pancake breakfast to welcome members of the local community back to the Kadampa Temple for World Peace after its six-week Mountain Retreat.

While IKRC Grand Canyon Resident Teacher Gen-la Kelsang Jampa was visiting KMC Colorado to officially open the new building there on March 9, Gen Kelsang Tsoglam, the Resident Teacher from Mahamudra KMC in Hermosa Beach, CA drove to Northern Arizona to lead a delightful "Mantras and Malas" course. There were 13 on the course and Gen Tsoglam began the morning in the Temple teaching many different levels of mantra understanding from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's book Tantric Grounds and Paths. She then taught the participants how to string a qualified 108-bead mala. Everyone on the course said they learned a lot, thoroughly enjoyed the event, and went home with their very own set of newly-created prayer beads.

There have been numerous local publicity outings in the new year with flyering efforts taking place in Sedona, Prescott, Williams and Flagstaff, AZ. Most recently, residents of IKRC GC have been flyering for two upcoming public talks that Gen-la Jampa will deliver on April 3 at the Downtown Flagstaff Public Library, and at the IKRC’s Kadampa Temple for World Peace on March 24.
