Long life, Merit and wisdom for 2024 〜 Part 2

At the beginning of this year, many people had the opportunity to strengthen their connection to Buddha Amitayus through chanted prayers, meditation, and mantra recitation during the Amitayus retreats worldwide. This post shows the retreats held at Manjushri KMC, KMC Karlsruhe, Nagarjuna KMC Thornby Hall, KMC Monterrey, KMC Uma, and KBC Tushita.

MANJUSHRI KMC, UK

Amitayus weekend retreat took place on 9 - 11 of February at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Center in the Lake District in the UK. Jim Belither led six peaceful retreat sessions following The Yoga of Buddha Amitayus sadhana. His gentle and clear guidance made it a great experience for those who attended.

KMC Karlsruhe, Germany

On the second weekend of February, we had the opportunity to strengthen our connection with Buddha Amitayus through chanted prayers, meditation, and mantra recitation. Gen Gogden, our Resident Teacher, led this wonderful retreat in a way that was warm and easy to understand.

Strengthening our connection with Buddha Amitayus will help us enjoy a long life with great good fortune and wisdom and make spiritual progress. We dedicate so that we can help others to experience the same good conditions. How wonderful!

Nagarjuna KMC Thornby Hall, UK

On the first weekend of February, we hosted an Amitayus retreat at Nagarjuna KMC Thornby Hall in the UK.

We were immersed in the practice of Buddha Amitayus during this retreat, which helped us improve our concentration, increase our good fortune, and achieve special feelings of clarity and tranquillity. There was a lovely mix of regular and new Sangha enjoying both the retreat and the renovated accommodation of Thornby Hall.

KMC Monterrey, Mexico

During our annual retreat of Buddha Amitayus we collectively engaged in the powerful practice of this Buddha and increased our good fortune, long life, and wisdom. In six sessions, our beloved Resident Teacher, Kelsang Damcho, guided us through meditations and provided commentary on this blessed practice. Thank you for joining us in-person and online!

"When I see the signs of untimely death,
May I immediately see clearly the body of Protector Amitayus;
And, having destroyed the Lord of Death,
May I quickly attain the deathless state."

KMC Uma, UK

We enjoyed two days of retreat on the Yoga of Buddha Amitayus with a short introduction at the beginning of each session. Through engaging in the practice, new and experienced practitioners enjoyed the blessings of Guru Amitayus. Thank you, Venerable Geshe-la, for your vision of everyone being able to learn this practice.

KBC Tushita, France

Modern Kadampa disciples in Nantes had the incredible opportunity to prepare for and engage in Amitayus retreat, the Buddha of long life, merit, and wisdom. Alexandre and Martine shared the sacred art of tormas with us; it was a blessed time that deepened our faith and patience. Then, we gathered to engage in this beautiful retreat, which allowed us to increase our lifespan, merit, and wisdom.
