Je Tsongkhapa's Blessings in the Land of the Snows
What a wonderful weekend! People arrived at MKMC on Friday evening for a weekend course with Gen-la Dekyong. Over the weekend Gen-la gave the blessing empowerment of Je Tsongkhapa and commentary to the special Kadampa prayer "Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche from his Faithful Disciples".
It was a delight to see Manjushri KMC in brilliant autumn sunshine, the Temple ornaments glowing gold against a blue sky. Then on Saturday everything changed! As we made our way into the Temple to receive the blessings of Je Tsongkhapa, snow started to fall, transforming the world into a magical white wonderland.
But it was even more magical inside the Temple as Gen-la helped us to understand how to transform our ordinary self into a pure self that has the power to benefit all living beings. As the weekend continued we learned that the meaning held within the blessed prayer to our Spiritual Guide can be found at the very heart of all our spiritual practices that lead us to accomplish this spiritual transformation and realise our full potential. So that we can get the full benefit of this prayer Gen-la Dekyong gave a brief commentary on it’s meaning and importance and how to use it in daily life.
Many people were inspired to do close retreat reciting 100,000 of our Guru’s name mantra.
Morning meditations were led by Gen-la Kunsang and we engaged in a short retreat guided by Gen Norden.
