Official Grand Opening in Aberdeen

Having completed the centre during the pandemic, Kadampa Meditation Centre Aberdeen were delighted to finally welcome Kadampa's from all over Scotland and beyond, to their official Grand Opening with Gen-la Dekyong, the General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition.

"On Friday night the ribbon was cut and this beautiful new centre, right in the heart of Scotland's third largest city, was blessed and dedicated to flourishing Dharma throughout the North of Scotland, including the Highlands & Islands. Gen-la shared Geshe-la's vision that the purpose of the centre is to give people a new life and encouraged us to become a Bodhisattva community dedicated to the service of others.

"On Saturday Gen-la gave extraordinary deep teachings on the Union of Kadam Dharma and Daily life. How we can transform all our ordinary daily appearances into the liberating path through the practice of Lamrim. By conjoining our mind with Dharma in every moment we can free ourselves from suffering, find a meaningful life, set a good example and truly benefit others.

"The weekend concluded on Sunday with a retreat guided by KMC Aberdeen's Resident Teacher, Gen Tubchen, on developing faith and transforming adversities into the spiritual path.

"Throughout the weekend we felt the power of gathering together as Kadampa's, how it deepens our faith, our energy for Dharma and our dedication to benefitting others."
