Quebec Dharma Celebration 2024
Dec 1, 2024
19 October 2022
The program for the International Festivals designed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche is in three stages - empowerment, commentary and retreat. Yesterday morning, Gen-la Dekyong concluded the second stage with a truly inspiring teaching.
What are the three thatnesses? The three doors to perfect liberation.
And all round the world hundreds more people are enjoying the Festival online at home or at their local center. This sublime Festival has touched the hearts of thousands.

To watch the happy faces of the kadampas attending in person makes me feel very fortunate to follow this festival online. I request Guru Tara blessings so that I never loose my connection!
It's so good to be a part of this festival all the way from my room in Australia. Much love and gratitude to everyone who makes this possible.

What a joy to hear Kadam Morten’s teachings; I couldn’t attend in person, but, we were still all together. What better preparation to receive the initiation of Buddha Green Tara.
I deeply rejoice for those who can attend in New York Temple and I feel very grateful to join the Fall Festival online too as Guru Tara is always with us bestowing her blessings upon faithful Kadampa diciples.
I don’t have enough holiday to stop work during this festival, but being able to use my evenings and early mornings to listen, meditate and enjoy feels really like the promise of Geshe-la, to bring Dharma into everyday life and transform it. It is magical.
Gathering at my home with friends invited by my wife for the empowerment last night, it felt like Christmas eve. As the autumn night darkened and the curtains were drawn, friends arrived with offerings, the shrine lit up with offerings and the big lounge TV we saw the countdown to the empowerment being “live” as we put in place the last details, mandala kits, malas, Sadhana’s… and settled.
Setting up the the room meant transforming the lounge into Tara’s pure land, and we even had a little miracle: Unrolling what I thought was a Thankgha of Je Tsongkhapa, I instead was presented with a radiant Tara … and I really had no recollection of owning this painting! So up she went on the wall and gazed upon us. We delighted in the blessings of Tara as Gen La Dekyong suffused in golden light with Gesh-la beside her granted the Tara Empowerment. My elderly dog even got in on the action – peacefully sleeping throughout in one corner of the room.
Afterwards, now past 11pm, we had a little Tsog party and finally after midnight, beneath a velvet starry sky, we waved goodbye and as the cars pulled away my wife and I closed the front door, feeling that we would sleep inside a magical space. We felt so very fortunate. Thank you Geshe-la.
After the Festival, many will attend a post-festival retreat at one of the Kadampa centers around the world. There is still time to register for many of these.
