Through the great kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche an unstoppable stream of Kadam Dharma now flows in this world. And nowhere is this more apparent than at the mother center, Manjushri KMC.
Throughout the lockdown, like other Kadampa centers around the world, Manjushri KMC has been streaming classes and pujas online for people to enjoy remotely.
Leading the way with her extraordinary teachings on Venerable Geshe-la's precious book The Mirror of Dharma has been Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU and Resident Teacher of the center.
And now for almost a whole week, the center is the virtual host of the 2020 International Spring Festival.
This practical podcast from Kadam Tim Laracombe invites us to pause and reflect on where our true enjoyment comes from.
But there is also another less visible program taking place at the center. In February, before the lockdown started, over 30 students arrived at Manjushri KMC to take part in a six-month Intensive Teacher Training Program, training with Gen-la Khyenrab to become Resident Teachers at Kadampa centers around the world.
After lockdown, the program continued while following the required restrictions. Gen-la remains in his room recording the teachings and monitoring discussions etc. And the students, re-accommodated in small 'family units', listen and study remotely. Even the discussion sessions and teaching presentations are conducted online.
The program will continue without interruption until August with Gen-la taking a break only to present the 2020 International Spring Festival.
Enjoy these videos and photos of some of the students sharing their experience of teacher training in lockdown.
I'm Katherine. I was born in Bogotá, Colombia and I have lived in this city all my life. I'm so happy to enjoy this experience, because I realise how special this online Festival is. I truly appreciate the opportunity to go deeper into compassion, everyone of us really needs this.
I’m Karen, from KMC Monterrey, I’m very happy that we can attend the International Spring Festival via online and that we can take a break of our daily quarantine routine to receive Buddha Vajrapani empowerment, incredible teachings about compassion and beautiful meditations. Thank you Kadampa Festivals for making it happen!
The Spring Festival is a wonderful opportunity for people from all over the world to receive Buddha Vajrapani's blessings and teachings on compassion. So necessary in these times!
