German National Festival 2024

Through the magic of modern technology, the kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, and the help of all the people involved, this year’s Swiss Dharma Celebration was live streamed around the Swiss area, including Italy and Austria, with translation into German, Italian and French.
On the Friday we received a wonderful blessing empowerment of Buddha Prajnaparamita from Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang, retired Deputy Spiritual Director of NKT and Resident Teacher at KMC Edinburgh. With this year’s celebration focusing on wisdom, Gen-la gave a beautiful and uplifting commentary to Venerable Geshe-la’s message to everyone on the importance of making our self and everyone happy through using our own Dharma wisdom. She encouraged us to continually increase our wisdom by integrating everything we see into our Lamrim practice, explaining how to reduce our suffering and be truly happy.
Even though Gen-la was teaching from KMC Edinburgh, many miles away from Switzerland, the physical distance made no difference. Gen-la felt very close, as though she were in the same room with us!
As the Celebration continued, Gen-la Kunsang gave a transmission of the Heart Sutra and a wonderful commentary to the self-generation practice of Great Mother Prajnaparamita. Gen-la explained clearly the meditations on renunciation, love, compassion, and bodhichitta which lead towards the attainment of the perfection of wisdom. She inspired us to go beyond only intellectual understanding, and the importance of the meditations to touch our hearts.
With our minds enriched with the blessings from Gen-la’s teachings, the Celebration concluded with a retreat lead by Gen Devi. With her encouraging and skilful guidance, this was an ideal opportunity to experience the beautiful Dharma gifts received from this wisdom celebration deep into our hearts.
Thank you to everyone for all your help and for attending, and a big thank you to the team at KMC Edinburgh! and a special heartfelt thanks to Gen-la Kunsang
