Vajrayogini Day 2020
The month of January is a special month in the Kadampa calendar during which we emphasise the practices of Heruka and Vajrayogini, the principal Highest Yoga Tantra Deities of modern Kadampa Buddhism. Today, the tenth day of the month, is Vajrayogini Day.
Vajrayogini is a female enlightened Deity of Highest Yoga Tantra who is the manifestation of the wisdom of all Buddhas. Her function is to guide all living beings to the Pure Land of Keajra, or Pure Dakini Land.
Kadampa centers around the world celebrate this day with special Vajrayogini practices and Offering to the Spiritual Guide puja.
Today and tomorrow we feature some of these events, beginning with a special Vajrayogini ceremony at the mother center.
In short, may I never be parted from you, Venerable Guru Dakini,
But always come under your care,
And swiftly completing the grounds and paths
Attain the great Dakini state.
