As Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche says, 'The NKT International Festivals are the special method to maintain the International Kadampa Buddhist Union from generation to generation.'

As we just saw at the Spring Festival 2019, through meeting, studying, meditating and working with people from many different countries and cultures we begin to create a world in which all living beings are united in peace and happiness, without division or discrimination.

We see that the real seeds of world peace are the minds of love, respect and above all cherishing others, and we understand directly in our own experience Venerable Geshe-la's teaching that without inner peace outer peace is impossible.

This is why at the end of the Summer Festival in 2009, the last Festival Venerable Geshe-la taught at Manjushri KMC, he explained the importance of maintaining the three International Festivals every year without interruption.

Venerable Geshe-la is an international Teacher. Like Buddha his focus is on benefitting all living beings without exception, not just those living in a particular country or adhering to a particular culture.

We have received the gift of this international vision from Venerable Geshe-la, and with the International Festivals he has given us a special method to accomplish it.
