THE JOYFUL WISDOM OF MANJUSHRI

MEXICO KADAMPA FESTIVAL 2019

What a wonderful weekend in Mexico City with Guen-la Kelsang Kunsang, retired Deputy Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU.

From the north, south, east and west of Mexico hundreds of practitioners gathered to receive teachings on the perfection of wisdom and the special blessings of Wisdom Buddha Manjushri from her. In total 430 people came from 10 Mexican centers, Perú, Colombia, Uruguay and the US.

As soon as we arrived on the first day we felt the pervasive happiness and joy of so many people gathered for such a special occasion.

DEARLY LOVED TEACHER
For many this was a heartfelt reunion with a dearly loved Teacher who for many years was the Resident Teacher at KMC Mexico and our National Spiritual Director. Guen-la Kunsang is now a retired Deputy Spiritual Director who is National Spiritual Director of Switzerland, Austria and Italy and the Resident Teacher of KMC Edinburgh in Scotland. ELIMINATING INNER DARKNESS
Guen-la reminded us that the function of wisdom is to eliminate the inner darkness of ignorance. We need wisdom to recognize where to find happiness and what its real causes are, and we need wisdom to understand why there is no happiness when it is absent.

THE WISDOM OF VENERABLE GUESHE-LA’S SPEECH
Guen-la reminded us of Venerable Gueshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche's words: ‘The things I usually see, do not exist at all.’

‘There is not enough money in the world to buy this wisdom,’ Guen-la reminded us. ‘We should consider ourselves extremely fortunate to enjoy this beautiful and deep Dharma.’

The cause of all our suffering is the ignorance of self-grasping. All our suffering, problems, and difficulties arise from this ignorance.

CREATING A PURE COMMUNITY
The times between sessions were valuable opportunities to create a pure community, where we recognize the possibility of living in harmony, full of meaning and happiness in the modern world.

Meaningful conversations, working for Dharma or simply enjoying a sunset, all helped us connect with our good heart.

How lucky we are!
