It doesn’t.

During the time we are assembled we receive teachings and empowerments and try to take their meaning to heart in meditation.

And in between sessions we learn in very practical ways how to apply the teachings in our interactions with others.

But even when we have left the Festival site we continue to deepen our understanding and experience of the teachings by applying them to our daily life.

In other words, the real meaning of a Festival is the inner spiritual development it enables us to accomplish, and from this point of view it never ends but lives on in our hearts, continuing to support and enhance our spiritual growth.

And in particular, for those who are fortunate enough to attend the post-festival retreats being held at various centers around the world this week, the Festival is still very much alive in their hearts as they consolidate and deepen their experience.

And next year, three more international Festivals and three more opportunities to enrich and enliven our spiritual life.

How wonderful!
