Madhyamaka KMC in the north of England has a special place in the history of modern Kadampa Buddhism because it was the first center established by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Rinpoche in 1978, soon after he arrived in the UK.

In founding Madhyamaka Centre Venerable Geshe-la sowed a potent seed, and since that time hundreds of modern Kadampa centers have appeared throughout the world through the power of his vision and kindness. Today there are over 1,300 such centers.

Living the Kadampa way of life
Last weekend Madhyamaka KMC hosted the Northern Dharma Celebration with Kadam Bridget Heyes, the UK National Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU.

Kadam Bridget granted the empowerment of Je Tsongkhapa and gave teachings on the Kadapa Way of Life.

She gave heartfelt teachings on ‘Advice from Atisha’s Heart’ in which she skilfully guided us on how to apply it to our modern life and through this be happy, correct any mistakes we are making and feel constantly encouraged. In this way we can benefit more and more people of the modern world.

A true celebration
The weekend lived up to its name as a ‘Celebration’ with much laughter and joy mixed with sincere study and meditation. Enjoy these wonderful photos and see for yourself.
