Following on from our coverage yesterday of the Vajrayogini Day celebrations at the mother centre, here we share more photos from some the other centers around the world.
The month of January is a special month in the Kadampa calendar during which we emphasise the practices of Heruka and Vajrayogini, the principal Highest Yoga Tantra Deities of modern Kadampa Buddhism. Today, the tenth day of the month, is Vajrayogini Day.
As the first week of the January retreats at Manjushri KMC begins to draw to a close, we asked a few of the retreaters over lunch what they have got out of the retreat so far:

The January retreats at Manjushri KMC got underway last night when Gen Kelsang Rabten, National Spiritual Director for Australasia and South East Asia, introduced the first two weeks of the retreat to a packed Temple.
The Australian Kadampa Festival this year was hosted by KMC Australia and KMC Melbourne with empowerments and teachings with Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab. It was a very blessed occasion and richly rewarding time for everyone.
Literally thousands of people attended Kadampa centers around the world as New Years Eve rolled from one country to another. They gathered for meditation and prayer, often praises and requests to Mother Tara, festive meals, virtuous entertainment and the joyful association that only spiritual friends can provide.
Last night the Temple at Manjushri KMC, the mother center of NKT-IKBU, was filled with fortunate ones celebrating the New Year in a deeply meaningful way with Gen-la Dekyong.
As the New Year approaches, we review the activities at Kadampa centers around the world in the last days of December and look forward to the New Year celebrations.
