Recently, on Freedom Day in South Africa, KMC Durban hosted a Walk for World Peace event. The day began with serene meditations on loving kindness and inner freedom, followed by a wonderful nature walk and then delicious vegeterian burgers with new friends.

With the help of the International Temples Project, KMC Durban in Southeast Africa acquired new land and set about building a new center from the ground up. Watch the progress of their center so far.

Fortunate people in South Africa have just enjoyed a wonderful South African Dharma Celebration weekend with their National Spiritual Director, Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang.

After a long period of closure due to Covid, the three Kadampa centers in South Africa are beginning to open their doors and welcome back the public. But as you will see they did not waste the time they were closed.

This weekend Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang led the South Africa Dharma Celebration, granting the empowerment and teachings on Buddha Vajrasattva. Here is some feedback from the fortunate ones who attended in-person and online.

This weekend the students from the three main centers in South Africa will gather online and at their centers to enjoy the South African Dharma Celebration with Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang. During the DC, entitled ‘Realize Your Ture Potential’, Gen-la will grant the empowerment of Vajrasattva, the Buddha of purification.

The 2020 South African Dharma Celebration Online will be taught by Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang. Gen-la is a retired Deputy Spiritual Direcot of NKT and now Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Edinburgh and National Spiritual Director of Italy, Austria and Switzerland.
