INTENSIVE TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM 2027
Jun 8, 2026
At Kadampa Meditation Center Tampa Bay, nearly forty people attended a joyful Walk for World Peace picnic fundraiser.
It was a beautiful day at a local county park in Safety Harbor, Florida. Resident Teacher Sarah Frew led a peaceful meditation, followed by a 45-minute walk through the park. Participants then enjoyed delicious grilled veggie burgers, potluck salads, and creative craft activities.
These gatherings are always filled with joy, and this one felt especially meaningful thanks to the beautiful natural surroundings. Several passersby stopped to speak with the group, and some new people joined, looking for a peaceful and positive alternative on that day.
At a special event held on Saturday, participants had the wonderful opportunity to learn how to let go of perfection with Kadam Adam Starr.
Throughout the day, they received practical teachings on how to accept themselves and others while continuing to grow and improve within a peaceful space of acceptance. The atmosphere was warm, joyful, and deeply encouraging.
Participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to Kadam Adam for traveling from Tara Kadampa Meditation Centre to share these meaningful and inspiring teachings. It was truly a wonderful and uplifting day for everyone involved.
Recently, Kadampa Meditation Centre Brisbane hosted a weekend meditation retreat at Camp Somerset in Queensland, Australia, based on The New Eight Steps to Happiness.
Guided by Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Ani, participants received teachings and engaged in meditations on cherishing others, understanding how self-cherishing is the source of our problems and how developing a sincere wish to cherish others creates the causes for lasting peace and happiness.
In the peaceful surroundings of Camp Somerset, participants stepped away from busy daily life to deepen their meditation practice, reflect on the teachings, and enjoy time in nature and with one another.
The retreat was made possible through the kindness and dedication of many volunteers, creating a harmonious and supportive atmosphere. Participants rejoiced in this precious opportunity to receive these teachings and bring them into daily life.
Participants enjoyed a special book presentation with Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Dargyey, who shared profound insights from The New Eight Steps to Happiness by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
Through clear and heartfelt explanations, they were invited to explore a “Buddhist way of loving” — a practical approach to transforming relationships and bringing deeper meaning to daily life.
In these challenging times, these teachings offer a powerful path to develop inner peace, authentic love, and lasting happiness.
It was a warm and meaningful gathering, where participants connected deeply with these precious teachings and with one another.
At a recent away retreat entitled Freedom from the Self, participants explored one of the most powerful insights of Buddha’s teachings: that much of our suffering arises from grasping at a mistaken sense of self.
Through teachings and meditation, they came to understand that things do not exist from their own side, but are merely appearances to the mind. This simple yet profound insight opened the door to greater inner freedom and peace.
By engaging in practices such as mandala offerings, participants created the causes to develop this wisdom — accumulating merit, purifying negativity, and receiving blessings.
At the conclusion of the retreat participants felt a deep sense of equanimity and inspiration, returning home with a more open mind and a sincere wish to continue developing this liberating wisdom in daily life.
On April 10, a special presentation of the book The New Eight Steps to Happiness by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche was held at a cultural center in Tarragona.
During the event, participants learned that love is the best protection against suffering, gaining practical insight into how to apply this wisdom in daily life.
With sincere gratitude, attendees rejoiced in the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe-la for giving these precious teachings.
