Post Spring Festival retreats – Part 2
Jun 11, 2026
The Sangha of KMC Leeds had the great fortune of welcoming Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab, retired General Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU and Resident Teacher of Tara International Kadampa Retreat Centre, for a special day course: What to Do When Things Fall Apart.
Through warm and deeply practical teachings, Gen-la Khyenrab guided practitioners in discovering how to draw upon their own inner strength and resilience when facing life's inevitable difficulties — transforming hardship into a genuine opportunity for spiritual growth. All who attended left feeling uplifted, inspired, and grateful for this rare opportunity to receive teachings from such a senior and beloved Teacher.
Last Friday, our National Spiritual Director and Kadampa Buddhist monk, Gen Kelsang Ananda, visited Dresden. He gave a public talk at the Programmkino Ost cinema to an enthusiastic audience and explained how we can use the power of our minds to become calmer and happier within.
It was a great pleasure to host this event. We thank Gen Ananda for visiting and teaching in Dresden.
This past weekend, we were delighted to welcome Gen Trime, Resident Teacher at KMC Seville, to KMC Granada. She gave a public talk entitled Wisdom that Liberates and a course entitled Discover the Practice of the Six Perfections.
It was a wonderful gathering where we were able to enjoy the wisdom of the Dharma teachings, offered in a clear, skillful, and sincere way, inspiring us to deepen our spiritual path.
Many thanks to everyone who participated and made this special gathering possible.
On March 6 and 7, KMC Aberdeen had a very special couple of days with visiting Teacher Gen Norden. Students came from across Northern Scotland to join us, with some people traveling several hours to be here.
Friday evening was a full house as we learned how Buddha's teachings provide a reliable method for developing the true happiness of inner peace. Students stayed afterward for drinks and biscuits to meet Gen Norden and enjoy each other's company.
On Saturday, we were then treated to a full day of profound blessings and teachings, illuminating some of the many meanings encapsulated in Je Tsongkhapa's precious text, The Three Principal Aspects of the Path.
Gen Norden taught with clarity, kindness, and wisdom, explaining first how the mind of renunciation is a joyful, uplifting mind—one that leads to freedom and real happiness.
In the second session, she explained the precious mind of bodhichitta, expanding on the previous topic of how all our problems come from the ignorance of self-cherishing—a mind deeply connected to self-grasping that mistakenly focuses on an inherently existent self that does not exist and believes our own wishes to be the most important.
After enjoying nourishing home-cooked food and good company at lunch, with lively Dharma conversations, the day finished with Gen Norden teaching on the correct view of emptiness. She showed how we normally view things in our daily life as objects that exist inherently, with no dependence on our mind—objects outside, mind inside—and explained how, in reality, everything is mere appearance, just like a dream.
She encouraged us all to take away a couple of main points that we can contemplate and work with, and especially to take our time to explore, investigate, and take joy in the treasure trove of Dharma that we have at our disposal in our center and in Geshe-la’s precious books.
A joyful and blessed day!
Thank you to Gen Norden for her kindness in coming to teach, and to all the volunteers who worked so hard to make the event run smoothly.
