In Granada, in southern Spain, work has begun on the new Kadampa Meditation Center. This project is very special for the NKT, as it stems from Venerable Geshe-la's desire to reciprocate the kindness of this region where he lived for more than 20 years.

The building is a 16th-century former religious convent and is located in a historic neighborhood in the city. It covers 3,000 square meters, with four floors, a large rooftop terrace with views of the entire city, and a 1,000 square meter garden, from which one can perceive the silence and peace of this privileged setting.

Furthermore, it will be a center honouring the life and work of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, housing a special room in his honor, as well as a large meditation hall, a World Peace Cafe with a garden offering city views, a shop, offices, beautiful courtyards, and rooms for residents and guests.

Work has begun with the demolition of walls, ceilings, and modern elements that hid the beauty and nobility of the original materials.

This new center will welcome thousands of people from around the world, who will be able to receive teachings to find inner peace and receive special blessings from our Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
