Work Day with Resident Teachers preparing for International Summer Festival
Jul 21, 2026
In an atmosphere of great joy and jubilation last Tuesday, we had the extraordinary fortune to hear precious teachings from the heart of Buddha given by Gen-la Kelsang Jampa.
Smiles and expressions of peace were everywhere, and we listened with great joy to advice that we can truly take refuge in to heal our minds.
We thank our precious Spiritual Guide Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, and also Gen-la Jampa for sharing his wisdom with us, and the entire KMC Monterrey community who worked with good hearts to prepare for the event.
Last Monday, more than 200 people gathered at Kadampa Meditation Center Mexico in Mexico City to listen to Gen Kelsang Demo, National Spiritual Director of Kadampa Buddhism in the Western and Midwestern United States. It was an evening filled with inspiration, reflection, and shared joy.
With a clear and approachable style, Gen Demo reminded us that it is not necessary to change our external world to live a meaningful life; what we really need is to learn to transform our attitude and discover how each moment can become something special.
She taught us that the first step is to reduce negative thoughts, and to do this we can use two simple but very effective tools: monitoring our mind and meditating on the breath.
Once we have reached a calmer state, the next step is to improve our motivation, for example, by thinking about benefiting others. In this way, happiness arises naturally, without effort.
The talk was a valuable opportunity to reflect on our true inner potential and how, by learning to control the mind, we can transform our daily lives into a path towards genuine peace and happiness.
Without a doubt, it was an enriching experience that will remain in the hearts of all those who attended.
On Sunday, Resident Teachers participating in the International Teacher Training Program took a break from their studies to help with the Summer Festival Preparations.
