In a Friday night public talk titled Real Love Won’t Break Your Heart Gen-la taught about how to distinguish attachment from love. His talk, full of wisdom and humor, was enjoyed by over 75 people, plus eight online.
On Saturday, a three-session retreat was titled Meditations on Love. In all three sessions Gen-la emphasized wishing love. He described it as a simple meditation yet so profound and beneficial. The final object of our meditation was a wish that all living beings experience pure and everlasting happiness. Over 50 people attended, plus five online.
We have just finished a retreat and public talk with guest Teacher, Gen Atisha. During his visit we listened, contemplated and meditated on advice from Buddha's heart, which we can easily apply in our daily lives.
How fortunate we are to have these teachings, which enable us to transform our minds and change our world in an effective, practical and accessible way, for the benefit of all.
May everyone hear these precious teachings and gain experience of them!
With deep gratitude, we share some special moments from the public talk and retreat guided by Gen Kelsang Ganden, the Resident Teacher of Heruka KBC in Alicante.
The public talk was a practical and insightful teaching that reminded us that inner peace does not depend on external circumstances, but on how we train our mind. Gen Ganden offered us tools to achieve this aim.
During the retreat, we immersed ourselves in the precious instructions of the great Teacher, Atisha. We learned how to improve our human qualities, live with compassion, and move towards enlightenment by keeping his advice in our hearts.
We were also filled with inspiration and blessings through understanding our special connection with Buddha Tara, who promised to take care of all Atisha's followers. Thank you to all who participated and contributed to create a space of peace, wisdom and community.
Kadampa communities recently enjoyed inspiring family and community events, including children's meditation activities, a joyful Dharma Kids program in Brazil, and a summer BBQ at Tharpaland KMC. Through meditation, friendship, and shared experiences, participants of all ages strengthened their connection to Dharma while cultivating kindness, inner peace, and harmonious community.
