Retreating from the busyness of our life
Wonderful retreats took place in the last couple of weeks around the world. Kadampa centers in Hong Kong, Ottawa, Querétaro, and Johannesburg offered the opportunity for dozens of students to come together, meditate, and retreat from the busyness of daily life.
Heart Sutra Retreat in Hong Kong
Well done, everyone, for completing the four weekly meditation classes followed by a six-day silent meditation retreat on the Heart Sutra!
A heartfelt thank you to our Teacher, Gen Tonglam for providing clear instructions and guiding the meditations on emptiness following the Heart Sutra. Gen Tonglam reminded us that this is a precious opportunity to gain meditative experience on emptiness and encouraged us to continue our meditations on emptiness so that we can cultivate the ability to benefit all living beings.
“Limitless Mind” Silent Concentration Away Retreat near Ottawa
In October, we held our beautiful silent concentration retreat, Limitless Mind, focusing on the clarity of the mind, co-led by Gen Kelsang Thekchen and Gen Kelsang Suma. Together, they skillfully guided us on an inner adventure, helping us explore the nature of our very subtle mind—the root mind.
Set in the calm, spiritual environment of the Galilee Retreat Centre in Arnprior, Ontario, each participant was led toward meaningful spiritual experiences on various levels. The two Teachers complemented each other perfectly, providing practical methods to overcome distractions, gently abide with our objects of concentration, and deepen our familiarity with the hidden nature of our own minds.
Everyone emerged from the retreat looking deeply happy. It was a profound yet practical experience, and we are very much looking forward to applying these insights in our daily lives.
Clarity of mind at KBC Sukavati
KBC Sukavati recently hosted an away meditation retreat focused on clarity of mind, just outside Querétaro, Mexico. The retreat was well attended, with a dedicated team of volunteers creating a joyful, community-driven atmosphere. Participants immersed themselves in profound teachings from our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Wangchog, enjoyed peaceful meditations, and cherished the lively gatherings between sessions.
Open Heart, Peaceful Mind - Vajrapani KBC Retreat
A beautiful retreat was experienced by all participants. A big thank you to Jenny and Alan at Thirsty Falls Retreat Centre, nestled in the mountains of Magaliesburg, for their superb hospitality. The retreat was led by our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Mila, providing a special opportunity to disconnect from daily activities and look inward. Our group left the retreat with smiles, truly amazed by the transformative experience.
