Retreating from the busyness of our life
Retreating from our busy daily lives to relax, deepen our Dharma understanding, and enhance our meditation practice is a wonderful opportunity to make progress on our spiritual path. Recently, centers in sunny Florida, the mountainous suburbs of Madrid, and the peaceful English countryside provided environments for rejuvenating and meaningful breaks.
Annual retreat in Florida
Kadampa Meditation Center Florida hosted, for the second year in a row, a special four-day retreat led by all seven Resident Teachers from across the state. Over 100 people participated, both in-person and online. Each Resident Teacher guided a session based on the profound Advice from Atisha's Heart, emphasizing how to authentically transform all our daily appearances, experiences, and actions into the Kadampa way of life.
The community enjoyed forming new friendships, engaging in profound Dharma discussions, and savoring delicious food and drink at the World Peace Café!
Peaceful Countryside retreat
On the last weekend of August, 26 people from KMC London participated in a retreat at Nagarjuna KMC in Northamptonshire. Guided by our Resident Teacher, Gen Zoma, we explored meditations inspired by Venerable Geshe-la’s advice from The Mirror of Dharma with Additions. This retreat provided a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together in meditation.
Nagarjuna KMC at Thornby Hall provided a warm and inviting environment, with beautiful en-suite accommodation, 17 acres of woodlands, World Peace Cafe, and a gift shop.
We were lucky to enjoy sunny weather throughout the weekend. A highlight of the retreat was a group walk through the beautiful grounds of Thornby Hall, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The experience was so positive that the group decided to make this retreat an annual event!
A Magical Retreat at KMC Madrid
KMC Madrid la Sierra was filled with practitioners who came to immerse themselves in the profound Dharma of vajra recitation. The power of Tantra, the depth of silence, and the skillful guidance of our Resident Teacher, Gen Tsongmo, led us into magical and unique experiences, both in meditation and beyond.
