Enjoying meditations on love and acceptance

The month of June was very special at IKRC Grand Canyon with great events and the culmination of important outdoor projects.
Avalokiteshvara Empowerment | Annual Fun Fair | Outdoors Projects
Gen-la Kelsang Jampa granted the Blessing Empowerment of Buddha Avalokiteshvara at IKRC Grand Canyon in June.
A few auspicious signs appeared in conjunction, including a loud boom of thunder in the middle of the empowerment and a double rainbow arching its way over the Temple at the conclusion of the event.
The IKRC Grand Canyon hosted its second annual Fun Fair this June. There was a bouncy house and face-painting for children, a successful rummage sale, pizza and ice cream, a mini artisan market, and Temple tours. Gen-la Jampa, Kelsang Kalden, Mary Harvey and Kelsang Jangchen all led 15-minute meditations. It was great fun meeting new friends in our local community and introducing them to the Kadampa Temple for World Peace.
Sparky the Pony was a surprise guest and an instant hit with the kids!
The month of June was a busy one at IKRC Grand Canyon with many outdoor projects either in the works or being completed.
Special thanks to Admin Director James Lane for juggling all these different projects at once!
New temporary signage was added to the front gate to welcome visitors and provide them with helpful information.
More than a dozen working visitors came to help with a special landscaping project led by KMC New Mexico’s Corva Rose, a professional landscaper herself.
Workers were on-site to repair a beam in the roof over the main staircase of the accommodation.
The new 80,000 gallon water tank continued to be assembled and painted out back.
Cracks in the stucco of the Temple were repaired and the outside of our room accommodations was freshly painted.
