Part of Venerable Geshe-la’s vision for the Summer Festival has always been that we end with the play The Life of Buddha. He requested that it always be shown to inspire modern day practitioners to follow in Buddha’s footsteps.
Last weekend several Kadampa centers in Spain held a variety of courses. These were very beautiful and unifying events, showing the power of Sangha of teamwork.
There was a joint special course with KMC Granada at KMC Spain in Malaga, a wisdom course at KMC Barcelona and walk and meditation with Lamrim KBC in Valladolid.
KMC Spain celebrated the second anniversary of the opening of Kadampa Temple for World Peace in Malaga on the 8th of June, continuing a tradition created last year. It was a great success with around 200 people from the local population attending, some of whom knew the Temple and some of whom came for the first time, receiving very meaningful impressions.
First time at a Festival? Volunteering is a great way to feel at home. During this year’s Spring Festival some people at their first International Festival talked about their experience of volunteering.
We’re excited to announce that this year, you can receive the Summer Festival teachings and empowerment sessions via livestream with simultaneous translation available in 6 languages!
This last weekend some Kadampa centers organized group retreats. The retreats were very different and held in different parts of the world, but what everyone experienced in common was a weekend that left them feeling peaceful, inspired and happier.
There was a joint retreat with KMC Arizona, KMC Phoenix, and KMC New Mexico at IKRC Grand Canyon (US), and retreats at Nagarjuna KMC (England) and KMC Merida (Mexico).

Following the Spring Festival, the Kadampa Meditation Centers in Kensington, Berlin, Hamburg and Barcelona held compelling public talks with special guest Teachers.
Yesterday we shared some of the photos from centers around the world, of practitioners offering their faith by reciting the special prayer Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from his Faithful Disciples with the recitation of our Guru’s mantra in a one-day retreat. Here we share more from that day. Enjoy!
