When they have the opportunity Kadampa centers organise group retreats to allow their students the chance to enjoy more in-depth meditation. Here KMC Los Angeles, KMC San Francisco , KMC Hong Kong and the Kadampa Buddhist Center of Huelva (Spain) enjoyed a variety of retreats.
This past weekend, Kadampa Meditation Center Los Angeles and San Francisco joined together for another away retreat at IKRC Grand Canyon. Gen Choma and Gen Rigpa led this retreat and gave commentary to one of our most precious prayers, the Liberating Prayer. This prayer was given to us by our Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe-la and is recited by Kadampa Buddhists throughout the world at the beginning of every teaching and meditation session.
For Buddhists, faith in Buddha Shakyamuni is their spiritual life; it is the root of all Dharma realizations. What better way to connect to Buddha than through contemplating the profound meaning of this prayer together with fellow Kadampas in this extraordinary World Peace Temple. It was not difficult to believe that we are constantly receiving Buddha’s blessings and kindness.
Thank you to all who were able to make it to this retreat, and thank you to the kind community at International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon for making this retreat possible.
Kadampa Buddhist Center Avalokiteshvara from Huelva (Spain) once again offered its annual retreat at the sixth Kadampa Temple for World Peace in Alhaurín el Grande, Málaga. The Teacher was Gen Kelsang Sherab who guided us along the paths of renunciation, bodhicitta and the correct view of emptiness - the actual door to liberation from suffering.
