"On November 23, KMC Montreal had the privilege to welcome Gen Kelsang Chodor, who is the new Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada, Toronto, for a public talk entitled Meditate to be happy: finding satisfaction from within.
With great clarity, humor and gentleness, he shared with more than 100 people how Buddha’s teachings can solve our daily problems. Indeed, our real problem is our inner problem of delusion, unpleasant feelings arising in our mind. Gen Chodor illustrated this with several powerful analogies.
Many participants were coming to the Centre for the first time and everyone was delighted with their evening, staying afterwards to enjoy snacks and meaningful conversations. It was a real pleasure to welcome so many people discovering Kadam Dharma through this special event.
Thank you Venerable Geshe-la and thank you to Gen Chodor"
"What a wonderful weekend together at our Vajrasattva Empowerment.
We were very blessed to have two teachers, Kadam John leading the empowerment, and Kadam Ai Peng kindly guiding us in a morning purification retreat.
Thanks to everyone who came and those who kindly made it all possible!"
"This November Heruka KMC Fort Collins, Colorado gathered for the Empowerment of Wisdom Buddha Manjushri granted by Resident Teacher Trina Gunther. In the afternoon, we received beautiful teachings on the seven types of wisdom and how we can develop them and use them to benefit ourselves and others.
Sangha gathered from various towns in Colorado and Wyoming. It was a precious opportunity to receive wisdom blessings and spend time with community members we don’t often have an opportunity to meet.
During lunch break many enjoyed watching the new video Continuing a Precious Legacy which celebrated International Temples Project Day. We were fortunate to have two celebrations on the same day!"
"At the 6th Kadampa Temple for World Peace, KMC Spain, nearly 60 people have recently concluded a retreat based on the Vajradaka Burning Offering practice. Guided by Gen Kelsang Chokga, Resident Teacher of KMC Spain and KMC Malaga and National Spiritual Director for the NKT-IKBU in Spain and Portugal, participants engaged in this profound practice with the highest of intentions: to improve themselves for the benefit of others.
The retreat culminated with a deep sense of eternal gratitude towards our precious Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, appreciating his boundless efforts and extraordinary compassion."
Teatime with the Neighbours!
In November, KMC Madrid - La Sierra opened its doors to the nearby villages, inviting them for afternoon tea. We prepared a special tea featuring the usual items from our World Peace Cafe, along with some delicious cakes made by volunteers currently at the Center, including pastries from Chile, Argentina, etc. It was a very enjoyable gathering. We were delighted that half of the attendees were children, adding a unique sweetness and fun to the event.
Once again, thank you Venerable Geshe-la
"Gen Kelsang Demo led a deeply immersive meditation retreat, guiding us through various levels of preparation to heal our past. This was achieved by learning how to deal with painful feelings using wisdom and compassion. Almost every seat was filled, and the concentration in the room was palpable. There was so much relief in relating to our potential to let go! Transforming the Center's reception area, we served participants a delicious Thai lunch and delectable desserts, all prepared and served by our kind volunteers"
During this day, Gen Denyi gave a commentary to the Liberating Prayer, a special prayer composed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. This prayer is chanted by all Kadampa Buddhists around the world before teachings and meditation sessions.
The day ended with a beautiful Refuge Ceremony where Gen Denyi granted Refuge Vows.
