Chile is a narrow but very long country. With the powerful blessings of our Spiritual Guide three teachers from KMC Chile have been taking regular Dharma teachings to the north and south of the country. With lots of help from local Sangha, the projects in Antofagasta in the north and Valdiva/Puerto Montt in the south have a growing community of people interested in developing a Dharma Practice through the instructions of Venerable Geshe-la. They are coming to understand that this is the real way of solving their own problems and being able to help others to do the same.
About 60 people came to Kadampa Meditation Centre Chile to take refuge vows and receive Je Tsongkhapa's empowerment. During the course Gen Chokyong gave teachings explaining in more detail this profound practice.
"We are grateful to have been able to have such an auspicious weekend, thanks to all who made this special event possible."
Last week over 120 people gathered at the Hullabaloo Theatre in Darlington for a talk and meditation on Overcoming Stress and Anxiety: a Buddhist Perspective with special guest teacher Gen Kelsang Tilopa, event organised by Atisha KMC.
"Everyone was smiling within minutes of the event starting as Gen Tilopa led us through an inspiring, and very entertaining, explanation of how we can use Buddha's teachings to get control of our mind and make ourself truly happy. We finished the event with a beautiful guided meditation showing how simple breathing meditation can cause our mind to experience deep inner peace. The theatre was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop!"
Also Gen Kelsang Tilopa gave a public talk about Freedom from Anxiety - A Buddhist Approach to a packed meditation room at Uma KMC in Carlisle UK last week.
Gen Kelsang Wangmo, Resident Teacher at KMC Edinburgh was guest teacher at KMC Glasgow to teach a course entitled ‘Think Well Feel Well’.
On Sunday 25 June Gen Tsalden visited KMC Brisbane to give a course on the skill of self-confidence.
KMC Oslo just finished a wonderful rest and reflect retreat at Gullnasgarden, Strømstad, Sweden. We meditated on our breath, absorption of cessation and equanimity, an equally warm and friendly feeling towards all living beings.
Their next away retreat in Norwegian mountain Jotunheimen is scheduled in August.
KMC Köln had their first Avalokiteshvara empowerment. Many sangha from Essen and Frankfurt took part.
KMC Hamburg had Je Tsongkhapa empowerment last weekend, followed by three sessions of Heart Jewel practice.
