Fall Festival 2024 ~ Day 1
Oct 25, 2024
Before he passed into the clear light, Venerable Geshe-la gave precise instructions on what should be done after his death.
He requested that his body be cremated privately with no ceremony and the ashes distributed in the ocean.
He repeatedly reminded us, 'I am not my body - that came from my parents.'
Those who wished to stay connected with him, he said, should do so through the practice of relying upon Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka.
He suggested that after he passed, Kadampa centers could hold a two-day retreat on this practice as an opportunity to connect with him in that aspect and as a public recognition of our special connection with him.
In truth Venerable Geshe-la remains in this world through all his extraordinary deeds creating the cause for Kadam Dharma to flourish.
All these blessed activities are now international projects through which we can express our faith, devotion and deep gratitude.
His deepest wish is for us to work to bring outer and inner peace to the world in this way.
And this is the heartfelt dedication of Kadampas around the world.
