thousands pray for world peace

Why our prayers work by Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong

At the suggestion of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, yesterday a special Prayers for World Peace was held at Manjushri KMC led by Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, the General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU, to pray for peace in the world at this time.

Based on the teachings of Venerable Geshe-la Gen-la explained that in such situations our job as spiritual practitioners is to pray - to pray with confidence knowing that prayers work.

AT MANJUSHRI KMC

Thousands praying together
The prayers were held in the First Kadampa Temple for Word Peace and live-streamed around the world. Over 3,500 people joined in the live session and hundreds more in different time zones caught up with a recorded session.

Being part of a global prayer session that stretched from Wales to Germany, from Arizona to Argentina was both humbling and inspiring. May peace prevail in our world.
