INDIVISIBLE BLISS & EMPTINESS

a celebration of heruka day

HERUKA MANDALA
January 25 is Heruka Day on which we engage in special practices of the Highest Yoga Tantra Deity, Heruka, who is the principal Deity of the New Kadampa Tradition.

Heruka is a manifestation of the compassion of all the Buddhas appearing in a special form to lead us quickly to the state of enlightenment.

Beings of this world have a special connection with Heruka and Vajrayogini and the practice is ideally suited to the modern age. This year there will be two opportunities to receive empowerments of Heruka and Vajrayogini at the NKT-IKBU Summer and Fall Festivals.

The sixty-two Deities of the Heruka mandala abide within a celestial palace, which is the inspiration for the design of the Kadampa Temples for World Peace, and some of these Temples have a representation of the mandala inside.

Below, we share a beautiful rendering of the mandala.
