Today we celebrate Buddha’s first turning of the Wheel of Dharma (Dharmachakra), when Buddha gave the very first Dharma teachings in this world.
Through this historic, auspicious deed, countless beings in this world now have the opportunity to practice completely reliable methods that lead to true, lasting happiness. Thank you Buddha for your inconceivable kindness to the people of this world.
We also celebrate the birthday of our precious Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
Venerable Geshe-la, through your immeasurable kindness, dedication and effort in spreading the pure teachings of Buddha throughout the world, countless people of this modern age have the opportunity to meet with and engage in Buddha’s teachings, and thus have the possibility of attaining all the spiritual realizations that lead to full enlightenment.
You have revealed all the paths of Kadam Dharma, giving everyone without discrimination the opportunity to complete the path to enlightenment easily and swiftly.
