Nov 9, 2024
Following the advice of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, on April 8, Tara Day, Kadampas from all over the world joined together in 24-hour Tara Chanting online.
3,500 people from 31 countries joined in this powerful, global puja. As promised, here we share more photos and words from some of the people who took part.
"Inspiring experience, so far but so close spiritually for the benefit of all living beings."
"I feel my compassion has increased."
"A more united world will continue to emerge. All thanks to Tara. Thank you so much."
"So happy to be praying with thousands around the world!"
"'Knowing that people around the world were praying for the permanent cessation of suffering lightens my heart."
"During difficult times when I would otherwise just be generating anxiety, Tara prayers help me channel my mental energy in a positive and beneficial direction."
"For nothing in the world will I miss Tara in six sessions. I took a day off to do it today with everyone, it's so much more powerful."
"Glad to have done the six sessions and also glad to practice Tara Puja every night since March 14th (beginning of confinement)."
"Inspiring experience, so far but so close spiritually for the benefit of all living beings."
"Feeling happy to practice Tara every night since March 14 (beginning of confinement)."
"I feel that in these moments we have to be more united than ever, prayer is our most powerful help."
"I love streaming worldwide Tara prayers in Washington DC--so do my cats--looking forward to doing it again next month!"
"My experience has been incredible, I thought I was going to be exhausted, but the opposite happened ... with each prayer, reading of the Sutra, each mandala offered and each mantra recited with the intention of creating a pure land, you feel the union, the strength and love of the entire Sangha, united with the love of Geshe-la, that makes things happen. A unique experience."
"The opportunity to pray with faith helps me to have a closer connection with the Buddhas and with my teacher Geshela."
