On June 4, Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day, we celebrate the appearance in this world of the holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

Venerable Geshe-la has accomplished so much in the last 88 years to introduce and nourish the growth of modern Kadampa Buddhism it is beyond our ability to list, let alone comprehend, all his achievements.

To borrow an analogy from Shantideva, just as a bird flying in the sky does not turn back because it has run out of space but because its strength is consumed, so do we eventually have to stop describing the good qualities and deeds of Venerable Geshe-la, which are as endless as space.

Everything we see in the Kadampa websites, from the centers and Temples to the study programs and books have emanated from his compassionate intention to benefit all living beings without exception.

With thousands of disciples worldwide, 1,300 meditation centers, and over a million books distributed, this humble Buddhist monk is touching the hearts of the people throughout the world in a very deep way, laying the foundations for genuine world peace born from inner peace.
