Meditate with our very subtle mind

We cannot recognise our clear light mind during sleep as we are so attached to our gross mind, we need to learn to remain mindful when clear light manifest either during sleep and in meditation, and use that mind to realise the lack of inherent existence of all phenomena. Without meditating with our very subtle mind, we cannot attain enlightenment.

More information on this subject can be found in the books Clear Light of Bliss and How to Understand the Mind.
