Canadian Dharma Celebrations 2024 ~ Part 1

Previously we reported on the nascent Israeli Sangha forming in Tel Aviv under the leadership of Daniel Koren. The group has thrived during the lockdown period and recently gathered for their second in-person retreat. Here is their update.
Last weekend people gathered at Kadampa Meditation Centre Metz to receive teachings on how to rely on the Spiritual Guide followed by a Bodhisattva Vow Ceremony with Gen Eupame, the National Spritual Director of France.
“For the first time, Gen-la Jampa, the deputy spiritual director of the NKT-IKBU, visited our country to share teachings on developing the mind of compassion, and on transforming our fearful and anxious society into a more loving, wise and, of course, compassionate one.”
On November 19, after months of work and renovations, a new Dharma center was inaugurated in Zona Norte area of Buenos Aires.
Over 60 people came for this auspicious event born out of the intention of our Guru, the Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, to bring Dharma centers to all people so that they can achieve ultimate happiness by listening to Buddha’s teachings.
In November Kadampa Meditation Centre Chicago welcomed Gen Norden for a weekend event.
“On Saturday Gen Norden led a morning retreat, Medicine for the Mind at Pleasant Home, a historic home located in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park. We had a full house, including many newcomers.”
Designed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche based on the holy mandala of Buddha Heruka, Kadampa Temples symbolise all the stages of the path we must accomplish to attain enlightenment for the benefit of others.
Recently, as if polishing pure refined gold, the King of Spain bestowed an architectural award on the Temple in Málaga, which was received by the architect at a special ceremony in Almeira.
Last weekend people from Vienna and all over Austria gathered at the Kadampa Meditation Centre Austria to receive teachings on the practice of the Heart Jewel from Gen Ananda.
On Thursday November 10, a tsog day, the new statues arrived at Vajravarahi Kadampa Mediattion Centre in Toulouse.
Prayers for World Peace is a practice introduced by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. It gives members of the public an opportunity to visit a Temple or center and join in prayers and meditation for world peace once a week, often on a Sunday.
Recently, encouraged by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, a new recording of the payers was made and is proving very popular.
This year the Nordic Dharma Celebration was hosted by Kadampa Meditation Centre Copenhagen in Denmark, where over 60 people from the Nordic sangha were fortunate enough to meet in-person and via online recordings, to celebrate together over 3 wonderful days.
