Fall Festival 2024 ~ Day 3
Oct 28, 2024
Now the Summer Festival 2022 has come to an end, this is a great opportunity to look back over the Diaries of the past week and review the teachings, videos and photo galleries.
Every time we take part in an International Festival we are reminded of the immense kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche from whom everything meaningful arises.
From the very depths of our hearts we thank you Venerable Geshe-la. You are in every respect the source of all joy.
From the sheer joy of being able to gather again after such a long break through the amazing teachings and Festival experiences, for many people Summer Festival 2022 has been life-changing. Here we share some of their reactions.
Clear Light of Bliss is the very first book by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche published by Tharpa Publications. Since then Venerable Geshe-la has written 22 other books, which are now being translated into many different languages and distributed throughout the world.
Today, the Summer Festival enters the last phase – retreat on the teachings of part 2. Led by Gen Rabten, this retreat will emphasise going deeper into the meditations on tranquil abiding and emptiness.
This wonderful Festival is a manifestation of the great kindness in the heart of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. It is his wish that we gather three times a year for international Festivals and enjoy teachings, meditations and prayers as an international family. Each time we do we feel more and more the great kindness at Venerable Geshe-la’s heart and experience more and more deeply his extraordinary vision.
The Festival is well into its second week with everyone enjoying extraordinary teachings by Gen-la Jampa and beautiful meditations led by Gen Sangden. Whether you are completely new or an experienced practitioner, this Festival offers something for everyone.
The Summer Festival is family friendly in many ways. At an international Kadampa Festival we meet the international Kadampa Family and see for ourselves how Kadam Dharma touches the hearts of people throughout the world – people of all ages, cultures and ethnicity.
After a relaxing free day exploring the extraordinary beauty of the local area and chilling with friends old and new, today we return to the Temple for Week 2 of the Festival.
In week 2, we study the 2nd part of Clear Light of Bliss by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche with Gen-la Kelsang Jampa, Deputy Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU. Meditations are led by Gen Sangden and the retreat by Gen Rabten.
As we enter the second day of retreat and bring the first week of the Festival to a close, it is a good time to reflect on the international nature of the community of people gathered at Manjushri KMC.
