An Auspicious Beginning for Kadam Dharma in Venezuela

The month of June marked a very special milestone for the development of Kadam Dharma in Venezuela. Although KMC Venezuela is still in its early stages, its first activities were filled with joy, enthusiasm, and countless blessings.

Dharma Arrives in Venezuela

The first weekend began in the city of Valencia with the public talk, Choose to Be Happy. Many people had the opportunity to encounter Buddha's teachings for the first time and discover practical methods for developing inner peace and lasting happiness. Through the kindness and hard work of many dedicated volunteers, this precious event became a reality.

The following day, practitioners and newcomers gathered in Parque del Este in Caracas for the Walk and Meditate event. Surrounded by nature, people of all ages enjoyed a peaceful morning of meditation and contemplation, connecting with a calm and happy mind. As the event coincided with Father's Day in Venezuela, it became an especially meaningful occasion for many families.

During this first weekend, more than seventy people made a connection with Kadam Dharma. It was deeply inspiring to witness the openness, interest, and joy with which Buddha's teachings were received.

A Message of Hope and Healing

The next step was to hold a public talk in Caracas. However, just a few days beforehand, a series of earthquakes affected different regions of the country. With everyone's safety as the priority, the event was transformed into an online class entitled The Healing Power of Meditation.

These events made even more apparent the deep need for inner peace that exists in Venezuela. In this context, the online class became a very special opportunity to share teachings on love, compassion, and the powerful practice of Taking and Giving. Many people discovered that even in the most challenging circumstances, the mind can find a path of hope, courage, and inner strength.

The following day, through the immense kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the Powa Ceremony held at KMC Madrid was streamed online. This allowed many people in Venezuela to participate in this precious Buddhist practice and dedicate prayers for their family members, friends, and all those who lost their lives or were affected by this tragedy.

Without doubt, this blessed beginning has arisen through the immense kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, whose boundless compassion and far-reaching vision continue to make it possible for Kadam Dharma to spread to new places and benefit countless living beings, both now and in the future.

Looking to the Future

These first activities clearly demonstrated the great receptivity of the Venezuelan people and the tremendous potential for Kadam Dharma to flourish in the country.

Following this auspicious beginning, KMC Venezuela will begin offering weekly online classes from July onwards, enabling even more people to discover and put Buddha's teachings into practice. With the blessings of Venerable Geshe-la and the sincere efforts of many dedicated practitioners, there is great hope that Kadam Dharma will continue to grow and bring peace, wisdom, and compassion to the hearts of many people throughout Venezuela.
