On Dharmachakra Day, Kadampas around the world celebrate two special occasions as one. We rejoice in the immeasurable kindness of Buddha Shakyamuni, who gave the first turning of the Wheel of Dharma, opening the path that has guided countless living beings away from suffering and towards lasting happiness for more than 2,500 years.

On this same precious day, we celebrate the birthday of our beloved Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. Through his extraordinary kindness, pure teachings, and compassionate vision, Buddha’s wisdom has been made accessible to people throughout the modern world. Here we share how Kadampa communities across the globe came together with gratitude, faith, and rejoicing to celebrate these two precious occasions and to deepen their connection with Buddha’s teachings and Venerable Geshe-la’s inspiring example.
