KMC France Update: Preserving a Precious Place for Future Generations
Jul 15, 2026
Practitioners from across the Midwest gathered at Kadampa Meditation Center Madison for a joyful and inspiring Midwest Dharma Celebration 2026. This special event offered a meaningful opportunity to reflect on their good fortune, deepen their understanding of Dharma, and strengthen their connection with the spiritual community.
The highlight of the celebration was receiving the blessing empowerment of Buddha Green Tara from Gen Kelsang Demo, the US Midwestern National Spiritual Director. Through her clear and heartfelt teachings, Gen Demo guided participants to connect with Green Tara’s compassionate and fearless wisdom, helping them overcome obstacles and cultivate inner peace.
Throughout the weekend, participants enjoyed powerful teachings, guided meditations, and the opportunity to spend time with fellow practitioners. The atmosphere was warm, supportive, and deeply uplifting, reminding everyone of the strength that comes from practicing together as a spiritual community.
Many left feeling renewed, encouraged, and inspired to bring Tara’s fearless compassion into their daily lives. By relying on these teachings, they can continue to develop wisdom, reduce fear, and make steady progress on the spiritual path.
This year’s Midwest Dharma Celebration also served as a heartfelt reminder of the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, whose guidance and teachings continue to illuminate the path to lasting peace and happiness.
At Odiyana Kadampa Buddhist Center, Resident Teacher Matthew Stein granted the blessing empowerment of Green Tara.
He also gave inspiring and practical teachings on how to engage in the Yoga of the Enlightened Mother Arya Tara and how to rely upon her help through developing humility and faith.
Practitioners from across the Connecticut area, along with visitors from other New England Kadampa centers, gathered to enjoy this special and blessed event.
The atmosphere was joyful and uplifting, leaving participants feeling inspired to deepen their connection with Tara in their daily lives.
The community had the great good fortune to receive the blessing empowerment of Green Tara from Kelsang Sama. They also received teachings on the practice Liberation from Sorrow, gaining practical guidance on how to rely upon Tara to overcome obstacles and cultivate inner peace.
For some participants, this was their first empowerment, making the day especially meaningful and memorable. The event was filled with joy, inspiration, and a deep sense of spiritual connection.
After several weeks of dedicated work, a joyful and harmonious atmosphere continues to fill KMC France as the Resident Teachers and community work, volunteer, and pray together.
