Last weekend, participants from Kadampa Meditation Center Colombia enjoyed a beautiful retreat in Choachi, just outside Bogota, focused on the meditation practice of Taking and Giving.
Guided by the Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Atisha, they explored this powerful method for developing pure love and compassion, learning how to transform difficulties into a path of inner growth and connection with others.
It was an experience filled with peace, reflection, and deep inspiration for everyone who attended.
Kadampa Meditation Center Georgia hosted its second annual awayday retreat this year at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, just outside Atlanta. Nearly 70 people attended, most of them new to Kadampa Buddhist meditation.
Awayday retreats offer participants a break from the busyness of daily life and time to relax and reflect. Through guided meditations and teachings on Living Beyond Fear, Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Dechok helped retreatants gain insight and inspiration for their inner well-being and daily life.
One participant shared:
“The retreat was wonderful and I met many like-minded people. The teachings were clearly presented and I will definitely rely on what I have learned to guide me towards a peaceful existence. Meditation will now be a necessity for me.”
Teachers from around the world visited Kadampa communities in Edinburgh (UK), Paris (France), Concepción (Chile), and Madrid (Spain), sharing practical teachings, guided meditations, and inspiring advice that helped participants deepen their experience of Dharma in daily life.
