Celebrating Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day and the Birthday of our Spiritual Guide
Jun 4, 2026
Over two days, we had the great good fortune to receive teachings from Gen-la Sangden. Enjoy some moments from these two events. At the public talk held at MARCO Museum, more than 180 people received practical advice on how to free themselves from anxiety.
The following day, at the special course at KMC Monterrey, more than 80 people attended three sessions where Gen-la guided us with clear and practical teachings on how to free ourselves from mental pain. It was an extraordinary weekend as we also celebrated the 17th anniversary of Kadam Dharma in Monterrey! Thank you to everyone!
From February 20–22, 2026, KMC Austria in Vienna hosted an inspiring guest course entitled “Who Am I - Really? Self-Knowledge as the Path to Inner Freedom” with Gen Kelsang Ananda, National Spiritual Director for Germany, Romania, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic. Many people attended both in person and online to explore this profound and essential question together.
With great clarity, warmth, and humor, Gen Ananda explained how our ordinary sense of “I” develops and why misunderstanding ourself lies at the root of so many inner problems. Based on the book How to Understand the Mind by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, he gave practical teachings on how we continuously grasp at a fixed self, thereby creating our own worries and difficulties, and how we can begin to dissolve this through understanding the “view of the transitory collection.”
The weekend was characterized by practical teachings, guided meditations, and a joyful and harmonious atmosphere. We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make this course so meaningful and special.
At the beginning of February, KMC Metz had the joy and honor of welcoming Gen Kelsang Eupamé, National Spiritual Director for France. It was a weekend marked by clarity and lightness of mind, with more than 100 people attending over the two days.
Heartfelt thanks to Gen Eupamé for his kindness, and to all participants. These moments remind us how precious and relevant the teachings of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche truly are.
June 4 is the Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day on which we celebrate Buddha’s first teaching in this world - the first Turning of the Wheel of Dharma. It is also the birthday of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the Founder of NKT.
