Deep Practice and Fresh Perspectives

Early January saw Kadampa centers worldwide host inspiring retreats, from Lamrim and Heart Jewel to life-transforming teachings. Students old and new gathered for meditation, community, and renewal, enjoying deep practice, shared meals, peaceful walks, and energy for the year ahead.

Improving our Heart Jewel Practice at Mountain Retreat, Arizona

In the introdusction on January 2nd, Gen Wangpo encouraged us: maybe over the years, our Heart Jewel practice has gotten a bit vague. This week we can sharpen it up by reminding ourselves of the details of this beautiful practice.

Long-time Kadampas are saying this has really helped bring their Heart Jewel practice alive, and they’ve had some “deep” experiences already in just the first days of Mountain Retreat at IKRC Grand Canyon. What else can we look forward to!

SNOWY 'TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE' retreat IN MONTSERRAT

Recently, KMC Barcelona enjoyed a guided retreat with Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Lochani and Kelsang Khyabchog. We received teachings, meditated, and enjoyed this unique space, filling ourselves with energy to start the year with a fresh perspective. Thank you very much to everyone who made it possible!

Lamrim retreat at KMC Montpellier

During this first week of January, we began our first Lamrim retreat at KMC Montpellier. Everyone comes together - both familiar faces and newcomers - to share the joy of meditation. A heartfelt thank you to Venerable Geshe-la and our Kadampa Teacher, Kadam Olivier!

How to Transform Your Life with Gen Kelsang Ganden

From 2–6 January in Alcoy, KMC Alicante hosted the retreat How to Transform Your Life with our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Ganden. Participants enjoyed in-depth teachings, meaningful meditation sessions, shared communal meals, and a refreshing walk together to a nearby cave.

Lamrim retreat at Khedrubje Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Hull

We enjoyed a beautiful week-long Lamrim retreat at Khedrubje Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Hull, with around 40 people joining us across the week. Some attended every day, some for a few days and others came for a few sessions, fitting practice around work and family life.

The atmosphere was calm and welcoming - some people chose quiet afternoons and peaceful walks, while others enjoyed good company, coffee, homemade cake in the café, and of course, delicious home-cooked meals were on offer every day!
Truly something for everyone.
