Around 50 people engaged in the magical practice of taking and giving! So many participants had the opportunity to discover these methods for the first time that weekend, skillfully guided by KMC Trois-Rivières Resident Teacher Kelsang Tsulma, in this enchanting location. Many came with their families, partners, or friends. We felt so fortunate and grateful to enjoy these joyful meditations, delicious meals, and stunning hikes around the lake surrounded by mountains. We are deeply thankful to Venerable Geshe-la, to our Teacher, and to all the volunteers who kindly helped make it possible!
Some participants shared:
“It was my first time on this retreat, and it certainly won't be my last! What a peaceful place—perfect for meeting new people with common interests, enjoying nature, reflecting, and sharing. You have done so much for us with your incredible team of volunteers. Thank you!”
“Thank you for sharing your knowledge, experience, and kindness. Thank you for allowing me to meet open-minded, curious, inspiring participants who are following the spiritual path. And what can I say about the enchanting site that allowed me to connect with nature, and listen to the silence.”
Only an hour’s drive from Canberra, on the shores of Lake George, lies this peaceful refuge that feels a world away. Twice a year, Bodhisattva KBC’s weekend retreats are highly anticipated by our Foundation Program group and also welcome people from drop-in classes and complete newcomers.
Highlights of our recent retreat, Happiness Is an Inside Job, included 34 of us being guided by Resident Teacher Kelsang Dana in meditations for a light and happy mind—tuning into wisdom and giving happiness to all our friends, family, and the world. There was also the dramatic rescue of three baby swallows (who were reunited with their parents on Sunday!), Liz and Milinda’s kitchen magic, campfire chats, cherishing love in action, and a special farewell from Bianco, the rare white kangaroo.
How wonderful! We enjoyed an exceptional event where our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Chime, shared with us the teachings she received from Gen-la Dekyong at the Fall Festival.
Now we have everything we need to develop deep faith in our Protector, Dorje Shugden, who cares for us and accompanies us throughout our spiritual path.
We are very fortunate to have such a precious Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, who dedicated his life to spreading Kadam Dharma.
Now it is our turn to value, practice, teach, and spread this precious Dharma in order to fulfill the wishes of our Guru. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this event possible!
