Heruka Kadampa Meditation Center Fort Collins in the US hosted a talk, party, and prayers with the Western National Spiritual Director, Gen Kelsang Rigpa. We thank Gen Rigpa from the bottom of our hearts for sharing the importance of gratitude and clearly explaining the unique and precious qualities of our Kadampa Tradition.
After the new year break, our community at Kadampa Buddhist Center Sukhavati in Querétaro is once again coming together to participate in the life of the Center. With deep gratitude and joy, we were fortunate to engage in Feast of Great Bliss, the Vajrayogini self-initiation of Sadhana, on Sunday, January 7th.
Thank you, Geshe-la, and the New Kadampa Tradition!
Kadampa Meditation Centre Ottawa presented a memorable Public Talk with Gen Kelsang Thekchen at Carleton University in Ottawa, Thursday evening Jan 4, called Happiness from a Different Source: How Meditation Changes Everything.
About 90 people attended, including many new people and long-time members of our community. There was an air of hushed silence in the Kailash Mital Theatre as Gen Thekchen led the guided meditation, and rapt attention as he gave his profound, uplifting and very relatable teaching.
Everyone there seemed enthusiastic and truly happy as they left the Theatre, many stayed to talk about the teaching with Gen Thekchen, and many wanted to know where to find more teachings like this in Ottawa. It was a very successful effort to bring happiness from a different source to people in Ottawa.
Gen Demo grants Dorje Shugden empowerment at KMC Washington DC.
On Saturday, January 6, KMC Washington DC Resident Teacher and US Midwestern National Spiritual Director Gen Kelsang Demo granted the blessing empowerment of Dorje Shugden to happy practitioners in the Greater Washington DC area.
In her teachings following the empowerment, Gen Demo shared the importance of Heart Jewel practice, noting that it is an essential foundation of Kadampa Buddhism and one that practitioners would be wise to practice on a daily basis.
After the empowerment, practitioners who traveled from as far away as Philadelphia and Virginia Beach expressed their gratitude for the empowerment and the teachings, inspired to return to their daily lives with a larger sense of purpose and a feeling of greater connection to Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden.
On Saturday, January 13th, in the afternoon, an open house event was held at KMC Metz with four free guided meditations. Around 20 new people connected with the center on this beautiful day.
Urban retreats and a rain of blessings at KMC Colombia
Following our November away retreat, KMC Colombia recently held 2 auspicious retreats for the Colombian Sangha at our Bogota Center. A Guru Yoga and Mandala Offering retreat was held December 28th-30th. This was followed on the first weekend in January by a 3-day Vajrayogini retreat focusing on the practice of Quick Path to Great Bliss.
Students enjoyed these retreats in a serene, peaceful and blessed environment, taking advantage of this opportunity during the holiday season.
May these retreats be the cause of spiritual realizations, and increase the faith and joyful effort of the Colombian Sangha for the flourishing of Kadam Dharma in their hearts, in Colombia and throughout the world.
