At the Heart of Healing
The students of Mahamudra KMC in Hermosa Beach spent a long weekend in Joshua Tree, California, enjoying teachings on Universal Compassion by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. The Resident Teacher, Gen Tsoglam guided the retreaters through the teachings on love and the healing power of compassion.
Joshua Tree has perfect external conditions to leave behind the busi-ness of daily life and quiet our minds so that the wisdom of love can help us heal at a very deep level.
We were reminded of Venerable Geshe-la’s understanding that the path to enlightenment is very simple, “All we need to do is stop cherishing ourself and learn to cherish others,” as well as Geshe Chekawa’s simple advice to “Gather all blame into one.”
