Open days at Dharma centres are opportunities for more people to discover their local Center. Recently KMC Wales and KMC Montreal held popular open days, enjoyed by visitors and Dharma centre students alike.
KMC Montreal's doors are always open, but an Open House event is a particularly special opportunity for many people to discover what is inside the Center.
This Thursday, September 21, from 4:30pm to 8pm, about fifty people stopped by to taste meditation, meet the community and enjoy delicious snacks, despite the numerous construction on the street.
During the brief introduction to the Center, Guèn Chögyan shared how the Center is a place to rest our minds, and that by coming to this place of outer refuge, we learn to build in our hearts our own inner refuge.
On Saturday 16th September KMC Wales enjoyed its busiest yet Open House or Drysau Agored in the Welsh Language. More than 70 people came along to our Open Doors event promoted as part of Wales’ Heritage Month.
Throughout the day people were able to enjoy talks and tours of our beautiful grade II listed building led by our Admin Director, Ian. Peaceful meditations guided by Resident Teacher, Kadam Paul were hugely popular with all our visitors who were often trying meditation for the first time. Our fabulous bakers excelled themselves with scrumptious cakes and our volunteers helped everything to run smoothly. We are so grateful for the opportunity to welcome so many new visitors through the doors and to share our precious Kadampa Meditation Centre with local people. We really felt Geshe-la’s words - Everybody Welcome - echoing through the day.
