2023 Post Summer Festival Retreats

The three International Festivals are precious opportunities to receive teachings and empowerments from the Gen-las, and this experience is greatly enhanced if we can spend some time after the Festival in retreat improving our understanding of the teachings and taking their meaning to heart.
Post-festival retreats are organised by Kadampa centers around the world after each of the three International Festivals. See below for details of retreats following the 2023 Summer Festival.

Enter the Pure World of Keajra! The Practice of the Vajrayogini Body Mandala
Gen-a Kelsang Khyenrab is a retired General Spiritual Director of the NKT, Resident Teacher at Tara IKRC and the National Spiritual Director for Canada.
During this Post-Festival retreat and guided by Gen-la Khyenrab, you will have the great opportunity of familiarising yourself with the precious body mandala practice of Vajrayogini. Je Tsongkhapa said that the attainment of spontaneous great bliss depends upon our channels and drops being blessed by Heroes and Heroines. Meditating on the body mandala enables us to receive these blessings.

The Magic of Self-generation, The Practice of The Yoga of Buddha Heruka
With Kadam Morten Clausen, the Eastern US National Spiritual Director of the NKT and Resident Teacher at the KMC NY.
Based on teachings from the Summer Festival at Manjushri KMC, Kadam Morten will guide a seven days retreat focused on the Yoga of Buddha Heruka. Occasionally, we will use New Essence of Vajrayana, so we can practice Instantaneous Self-generation, three bringings, and offerings to self-generation. The main emphasis will be on training in divine pride and clear appearance. This will be suitable for all levels of practitioner.

Based on the teachings of the Summer Festival at Manjushri KMC, Gen Ganden will lead a five-day retreat, based on the practice of Lamrim, the stages of the path to enlightenment, the heart of Kadampa Buddhism, which is a special presentation of the Buddha’s teachings that are integrated easily into modern daily life.

Based on the teachings of the Summer Festival at Manjushri KMC, Guen Dargyey will lead this five-day retreat, based on the practices of the tantric deities Heruka and Vajrayogini, the heart of Supreme Yoga Tantra. With these practices we can quickly reach the state of Buddha, since they are the fast path to enlightenment. They are also the method of bringing the ultimate state of Buddhahood to the path and purifying our body, environment, enjoyments, and activities.

The New Essence of Vajrayana
With Gen Kelsang Chögyan, Resident Teacher of KMC Montreal
Out of his great kindness, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche understood that practitioners of this modern world needed a Heruka body mandala sadhana that would not have many words, but still be easy to understand and practise. He therefore prepared New Essence of Vajrayana, the very essence of Heruka body mandala, based on instructions from previous great Teachers. In this retreat, Gen Chögyan will be guiding us through the essential meditations of this practice, so we can gain familiarity with each and every step of this precious sadhana, which was made for us.
A Highest Yoga Tantra empowerment is necessary to attend this retreat.
