Filling Monterrey with love

In October, Kadampa Meditation Centre Monterrey in Mexico had a public talk “Is it love or is it attachment? ” at MARCO, The Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey. Over 200 fortunate people were able to hear from their resident teacher, Gen Kelsang Shima, profound teachings on the benefits of love

TEACHINGS THAT HEAL OUR HEART

Gen Shima gave very valuable examples to distinguish attachment from love and how to detect attachment when it begins to arise, which feels like an experience of deceptive happiness.

Finally, she gave the solution: to cultivate our wisdom, so that we recognize the benefits of cherishing others and wish to do so.

She shared advice from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, who encouraged us to develop and maintain a warm heart and a sense of closeness to all living beings without exception.

The talk concluded with a meditation to acknowledge the kindness we receive from others. Attendees were delighted with the teachings, which filled their hearts with pure love that will benefit all the people in the city.

“Pure, unconditional love never causes worry or suffering, but only peace and joy.” – Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
