Kadampa Meditation Centre Philadelphia recently celebrated 25 years with their original Teacher Gen Kelsang Norden.
On October 21- 22 Kadampa Meditation Centre Philadelphia welcomed their first Teacher, Gen Kelsang Norden, for a celebration of 25 years of Dharma in Philadelphia.
Gen Norden originally opened the doors of Menlha Kadampa Buddhist Center, as it was then called, in Philadelphia on Je Tsongkhpa Day 1997.
The original center was a one-bedroom apartment with the meditation room in the living room. Now the center occupies a large modern commercial space in Philadelphia's historic Old City District!
On her recent visit on October 21, Gen Norden drew a full house with a public talk on "What to do When Things Go Wrong: Buddhist Advice on Transforming Adversity into Strength", and the next day she led a retreat on "Liberation from Sorrow: Connecting with Buddha Tara."
LAMBERTVILLE, NJ
Meanwhile, Menlha Kadampa Buddhist Center in Lambertville, NJ also celebrated their 25th anniversary the same weekend.
They recently opened a beautiful new commercial space and sold all the seats for thier event - a talk and meditation with Gen Norden, the original Resident Teacher.
